This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
• Conduct focused prospect calls to foster growth in new and existing business.
• Guide, mentor, and enhance the skills of local dealer/cooperative sales representatives in livestock, lifestyle, additives, and milk replacer sectors.
• Achieve or exceed area sales and budget targets, including management of territory expenses.
• Enhance team capabilities to adapt to evolving market demands.
• Provide coaching, development, and constructive feedback to drive high performance.
• Assist in on-farm activities and the growth of sales members.
• Aid in the formulation and implementation of annual sales growth strategies and tactics utilizing Land O’Lakes, Calva, and Purina feed programs and technologies.
• Cultivate sales relationships through training programs, events, and engagements.
• Establish strategic connections with CEOs, GMs, calf managers, and location managers.
• Build both internal and external relationships across various companies or divisions to support overarching growth objectives.
• Identify innovative approaches to enhance opportunities within the region.
• Utilize tools for tracking, communication, and collaboration towards a long-term vision.
• Implement on-farm activities and facilitate classroom training.
• 2–3 years of proven sales and/or nutritional experience influencing individuals through expertise.
• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong general management abilities, including prompt and effective issue resolution.
• Proficient in analytical and strategic thinking.
• Successful management of budgets, including expenses and sales productivity.
• Comprehensive understanding of animal husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategies to staff at all levels.
• Capacity to generate new ideas, systems, and relationships.
• Ability to formulate specific plans and goals to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Skill in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with current and prospective owners and partners.
• Proven ability to engage with customers, suppliers, employees, and management at all organizational levels.
• Capability to effectively lead and manage through periods of change.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including virtual tools.
• Willingness and capability to travel overnight 25–40%, including some nights and weekends.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related business field is preferred.
• General knowledge of the dairy and dairy x beef industry as well as calf care is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to execute on-farm activities and conduct classroom training.
• Must be a self-motivated individual and a self-starter.
• Candidates should reside within the PNW territory of Idaho, Washington, or Oregon.
