CAD Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create precise, detailed, and scaled technical drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other approved CAD applications.

• Transform concepts from architects and designers into comprehensive working drawings for commercial fit-out and joinery projects.

• Generate manufacturing, construction, and installation drawings alongside supporting documentation.

• Revise existing drawings to reflect design modifications, site details, and feedback from stakeholders.

• Assemble drawing packages for tender submissions, approvals, manufacturing, and on-site installations.

• Accurately complete dimensions, calculations, annotations, and technical specifications.

• Maintain updated drawing registers, revisions, and related project documentation.

• Collaborate with architects and designers to ensure clarity on design intentions and technical specifications.

• Work alongside the Design Team to address CAD, engineering, and constructability issues.

• Provide precise technical information to workshop, manufacturing, construction, and installation teams.

• Align drawings with pertinent architectural, engineering, and site data.

• Integrate practical manufacturing and installation considerations into technical drawings.

• Identify conflicts, missing details, and potential design problems in drawings and escalate them as needed.

• Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to distribution.

• Assess colleagues’ drawings as necessary to uphold quality standards.

• Ensure compliance of drawings with relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies.

• Oversee multiple drawing packages and prioritize tasks in accordance with project timelines.

• Respond efficiently to design changes and urgent drawing modifications.

• Maintain transparent communication with the Design Team regarding project progress, risks, and pending information.

• Contribute to ongoing enhancements in drawing standards, templates, and design methodologies.

• Carry out other duties pertinent to the role as they arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field is mandatory.

• Prior experience as a CAD Technician, Draftsperson, or in a comparable technical drawing position is essential.

• Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD and other computer-aided design software is crucial.

• Proven experience in producing detailed technical, manufacturing, construction, or installation drawings is necessary.

• Ability to accurately interpret architectural, engineering, and design documents is required.

• Familiarity with engineering principles and technical drawing standards is essential.

• Excellent mathematical abilities along with the capacity to accurately perform dimensions, calculations, and estimates are necessary.

• Capability to recognize technical challenges and formulate practical drawing solutions is required.

• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to the accuracy and quality of drawings are mandatory.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential.

• Ability to manage several drawing packages while adhering to tight project deadlines is crucial.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory.

• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams that include architects, designers, engineers, and project personnel is essential.

• Confidence, self-drive, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs are necessary.

• CAD experience in commercial fit-out, specialist joinery, or interior construction is highly valued.

• Background in preparing drawings for custom joinery manufacturing and installation is highly regarded.

• Knowledge of joinery materials, construction techniques, hardware, and finishes is desirable.

• Experience with workshop, manufacturing, and site installation teams is highly regarded.

• Understanding of UK construction practices, drawing standards, and health and safety regulations is advantageous.

• Experience supporting projects in workplace, retail, hospitality, leisure, or heritage sectors is highly appreciated.
