CAD Survey Technician, QA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Evaluate intricate residential survey projects prepared by internal drafters and external outsourcing partners for precision, completeness, uniformity, and adherence to Exacta standards.

• Guide and mentor drafting personnel by offering clear, constructive feedback and elucidating corrections and survey concepts.

• Recognize recurring drafting and technical challenges and mentor team members to tackle root causes and minimize repeated mistakes.

• Deliver real-time technical assistance on complex survey, boundary, record, and drafting matters.

• Collaborate with Professional Land Surveyors on research, survey computations, record interpretation, technical assessments, and potential boundary resolutions.

• Address appropriate issues at the checker level, prepare intricate files for Professional Land Surveyor evaluation, and escalate matters requiring professional judgment.

• Offer technical support to field survey teams, including point coordinate files, field calculations, and boundary-related data.

• Participate in weekly performance meetings and utilize productivity, quality, turnaround time, and KPI trends to identify coaching and process enhancement opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

• An Associate's or Technical Degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 3 years of successful experience in land surveying drafting, checking, or as a survey technician.

• Practical experience in CAD.

• Strong understanding of residential survey preparation, CAD operations, survey calculations, record information, and boundary-related research.

• Ability to convey technical feedback clearly and professionally.

• Proven capacity to coach others, resolve issues, and support consistent business outcomes.

• Skill in prioritizing complex reviews, balancing workload demands, and ensuring timely delivery while upholding quality standards.

• Proficient in the independent use of job-related software, e-technology, and cloud-based solutions.
