Buyer – Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Acquire materials, components, and services essential for production and meeting customer requirements

• Develop, assess, and uphold purchase orders

• Track open orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries

• Oversee order expedites, de-expedites, rescheduling, and cancellations

• Establish and nurture supplier relationships

• Address issues related to delivery, quality, and invoices

• Collaborate with Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional teams

• Tackle material shortages and support organizational goals

• Maintain inventory levels per company targets and support working capital objectives

• Analyze forecasts, demand fluctuations, and inventory patterns

• Modify planning parameters, such as safety stock and lead times

• Ensure accurate purchasing and planning data within the ERP/MRP system

• Fulfill departmental standard work, reporting, and documentation

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and enhance purchasing and planning processes

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree required in a relevant field

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in a related discipline

• Experience in supply chain management is an advantage

• APICS, CPM, or CPSM certification is preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in supply chain or a related area is preferred

• Customer experience-oriented mindset

• Project management experience is preferred

• Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are preferred

• Experience in supplier relationship management

• Skills in cost analysis and negotiation

• Knowledge of inventory planning and control

• Competence in cross-functional collaboration
