This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee intricate projects, priority initiatives, and programs within the Technology and Data Portfolio.
• Collaborate with the project manager to formulate budgets, update forecasts, and conduct variance analysis.
• Create, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow strategies.
• Track commitments, expenditures, variances, and trends using cost-control measures.
• Examine contractor and vendor invoices for precision and alignment with contracts.
• Conduct monthly cost reviews and deliver actionable insights to project leadership.
• Assist with capital funding requests and financial approvals.
• Submit reclassifications, accruals, and metadata modifications during project execution.
• Supervise the creation and maintenance of an integrated master schedule.
• Verify schedule logic, sequencing, resource allocation, and critical path integrity.
• Perform risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate schedule reviews among engineering, construction, operations, and third-party partners.
• Identify, document, and track risks and opportunities.
• Maintain risk registers and generate periodic risk reports.
• Manage change control and assess cost and schedule implications.
• Ensure that changes are documented, approved, and reflected in forecasts.
• Align project controls with corporate governance, PMO standards, and industry best practices.
• Engage in stage-gate reviews, readiness assessments, and independent project evaluations.
• Compile monthly project controls reports covering cost, schedule, risks, and progress.
• Provide leadership with data-driven insights and decision-making support.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Foster partnerships with project managers, Portfolio Financial Managers, finance, procurement, and external stakeholders.
• Promote cross-functional communication.
• Champion process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy and project predictability.
• Contribute to project controls standards, templates, and best-practice guidelines.
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 2 years of experience in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field OR Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR Associate’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma / GED with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Over 10 years of experience in project controls or project management for large-scale capital projects.
• Certifications such as PMP, EVP, PSP, or PMI-SP are highly preferred.
• Proven experience in cost engineering, scheduling, earned value management, and risk analysis.
• Experience leading project controls teams within engineering, construction, biotech/pharma, or manufacturing settings.
• Advanced proficiency in project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, ARES PRISM, EcoSys).
• Strong skills in Excel and data analytics; familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Understanding of contracting strategies, procurement processes, and financial forecasting.
