Business Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the daily management of revenue cycle operations within physician practices.

• Identify and analyze deficiencies in billing, coding, claims, denials, payment follow-up, collections, and reporting processes.

• Oversee and enhance the performance of internal billers, outsourced RCM teams, and specialized billing resources.

• Establish frameworks, accountability measures, and escalation procedures to ensure issues are addressed promptly.

• Collaborate with physicians and practice teams while maintaining a service-oriented approach.

• Enhance RCM processes across multiple sites in Houston and Atlanta.

• Assist in future system cleanup and integration projects involving eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar platforms.

• Clearly communicate issues, metrics, risks, and improvement initiatives to company leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.

• Background in physician practices, ambulatory care, specialty healthcare, MSO, platform, or similar multi-site healthcare operations.

• In-depth understanding of billing, coding, claims, denials, A/R, collections, payment posting, payer follow-up, and RCM metrics.

• Experience in managing or supervising billers, coders, outsourced RCM teams, vendors, or cross-functional RCM workflows.

• Capability to audit work, pinpoint issues, challenge ineffective processes, and determine solutions related to payer, coding, billing, and reimbursement.

• Effective communication skills with a focus on provider service.

• Comfort in a growth-stage healthcare setting where systems require enhancement while the business remains operational.

• Strong organizational skills, commitment to follow-through, and a sense of ownership.

• Willingness to travel to Houston and/or Atlanta at least monthly, especially for non-local candidates.

• Preferred: Experience in podiatry, vascular, orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, surgery, urgent care, or other specialty physician-practice RCM.

• Preferred: Familiarity with eClinicalWorks, Epic, or a similar EHR/PM system.

• Preferred: Experience supporting an MSO, PE-backed healthcare platform, or an acquisitive multi-site practice group.

• Preferred: Proven track record of improving denial rates, days in A/R, clean claim rates, charge capture, collections, or other RCM performance indicators.

• Preferred: Residing in the Houston or Atlanta metro area, or capability to spend regular time with teams in either or both locations.
