This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.
• Examine extensive and intricate datasets from multiple sources to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations.
• Convert data insights into practical recommendations and actionable strategies.
• Design, test, and implement predictive and prescriptive models along with scenario forecasting using machine learning and statistical methods.
• Continuously assess and enhance model efficacy.
• Develop data visualizations and dashboards tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with finance, actuarial and underwriting, membership, marketing and customer experience, data warehouse and IT, health analytics, and human resources teams.
• Comprehend business requirements and translate them into data-centric solutions.
• Present discoveries and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation regarding data sources, preparation procedures, mathematical models, dashboards, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data.
• Develop and execute processes for data collection, cleaning, and preparation.
• Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and technologies.
• Investigate and adopt new methodologies to improve data analysis capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a data analyst, data scientist, or similar roles is necessary.
• Experience and knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and health insurance industry is preferred.
• A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python or R is essential.
• Experience with SQL and pandas is required.
• Understanding of data warehouse structures, data extraction tools, analytics software and methods, and data modeling is necessary.
• Experience with big data and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is important.
• Ability to identify, manage, merge, and ensure consistency of large datasets is required.
• Capability to build statistical models and interpret their limitations is necessary.
• Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI is preferred.
• Experience in creating accessible, insightful, engaging, and branded data visualizations is crucial.
• Ability to apply, validate, and interpret results within machine learning contexts is essential.
• Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to make decisions using independent judgment and creativity is necessary.
• Ability to work collaboratively with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach is essential.
• Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri, or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.
