Business Excellence Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Assist in the deployment and ongoing maintenance of Lean and SSPS programs across all manufacturing facilities.

• Create content related to Lean and mattress manufacturing while training and mentoring CI Managers, plant leadership, and operational teams.

• Evaluate plant processes to recognize, standardize, and implement best practices throughout the organization.

• Aid in the annual Value Stream Mapping and Bedding Assessment initiatives.

• Identify, validate, and spearhead large-scale cost-saving projects.

• Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, continuous improvement projects, problem-solving sessions, and corrective measures.

• Ensure compliance with Daily Management Rhythm across the network.

• Oversee corporate initiatives to enhance SQDCP metrics on a network-wide basis.

• Create and revise Standard Work documentation.

• Design and conduct Lean Fundamentals training sessions.

• Guide CI Managers in project management, Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.

• Oversee and assist with strategic projects that affect multiple plants.

• Manage comprehensive Kaizen roadmaps and improvement strategies across the network.

• Monitor, track, and report on project status and effectiveness using key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Support senior leadership in strategic planning and execution efforts.

• Document and disseminate best practices across all facilities.

• Develop the Bedding Assessment procedure for standardized network compliance.

• Conduct audits and evaluations to promote SQDCP enhancements and standardization.

• Collaborate with plant leadership, CI Managers, and cross-functional teams.

• Present improvement initiatives, outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Build networks with plants and external partners to share ideas and innovations.

• Adapt to changing business priorities and advocate for new continuous improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, or operations, preferably with multi-site responsibilities.

• Experience in training and mentoring leaders in Lean methodologies.

• Demonstrated experience leading network-wide Lean transformation and continuous improvement efforts.

• In-depth knowledge of Lean concepts and tools, including 5S, value stream mapping, line balancing, visual workplace, flow and pull manufacturing, and Pareto analysis.

• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Smartsheet, and Power BI.

• Familiarity with AI tools.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills across various organizational levels.

• Ability to influence and mentor leaders at different levels.

• Proven capacity to influence others using data-driven models.

• Capability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.

• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent preferred.

• Experience in the mattress manufacturing industry or a similar field is preferred.
