Business Development, Research Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.

📋 Description

• Craft and outline sustainable finance proposals and bids related to clean energy, sustainable transportation, debt instruments, nature-based solutions, and climate-aligned public finance.

• Investigate funding opportunities, donor priorities, and institutional frameworks, including government procurement, development finance institutions, and climate finance mechanisms.

• Generate research memoranda and analytical briefs focused on funder interests, sector trends, and partnership prospects for senior executives.

• Create and enhance proposal narratives, theories of change, and strategic frameworks for bidding initiatives.

• Develop presentations and supporting materials for partnership discussions and client interactions.

• Oversee business development pipelines and monitor activities across various regions and funding opportunities.

• Handle multiple workstreams while adhering to quality standards and deadlines.

• Collaborate closely with senior leaders and business development specialists to bolster BD strategy and pinpoint partnership and funding opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in Nairobi.

• Access to a home office setup that facilitates full-time remote work.

• Recent graduate, preferably with a focus in Sustainable Finance, Climate Change, or International Development.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.

• Mastery of a second language is highly preferred.

• Exceptional interpersonal and effective communication abilities.

• Strong passion for sustainable development and the financial sector's impact.

• Highly driven with a commitment to learning and enhancing professional skills.

• Capability to work independently and deliver accurate outputs by specified deadlines.
