This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Conduct research on Air Force and DoD organizations, programs, potential customers, and market dynamics.
• Identify possible opportunities that align with Rackner’s technology services.
• Initiate professional outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to customers and partners.
• Secure introductory meetings and discussions regarding capabilities.
• Prepare for customer outreach and discussions by conducting relevant account research.
• Maintain precise records of contacts, activities, opportunities, and next steps in Rackner’s CRM system.
• Follow up consistently and assist in advancing promising discussions toward defined next actions.
• Share valuable insights about customers and market trends with the broader growth team.
• Participate in select customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
• Collaborate with senior business development, technical, capture, and executive team members as opportunities progress.
• Prioritize front-end business development and pipeline creation over initially managing formal capture plans, proposal strategies, or established federal pursuits.
• Experience in professional communication with customers, prospects, partners, or external stakeholders.
• Comfort in initiating conversations with unfamiliar contacts.
• Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through.
• Ability to work independently while seeking support when necessary.
• Capability to learn new markets, terminology, and technology concepts.
• Interest in federal missions, technology services, sales, or government contracting.
• Good judgment when representing the organization externally.
• Prior experience in federal business development is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A specific degree is not a requirement.
• Current security clearance is not necessary to start; however, the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance may be required for future roles.
• Experience with the U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense, federal agencies, or government contracting is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in outbound sales, account development, recruiting, or customer outreach is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with CRM or structured tracking platforms is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience with federal market research or acquisition tools is beneficial but not essential.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, DevSecOps, software engineering, AI/ML, cybersecurity, or data solutions is advantageous but not required.
• Active or previously held security clearance is helpful but not mandatory.
• Sales, technology, or government contracting training or certifications are beneficial but not required.
