
Business Development Manager β Away from Home Sales, Commercial Chain Accounts

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
β’ Achieve top-line sales and bottom-line profit goals for the commercial national chain foodservice account sector.
β’ Develop, implement, supervise, and lead business initiatives with the assigned Top 300 national chain foodservice accounts.
β’ Create strategic sales plans and oversee trade spending.
β’ Utilize broker management to enhance regional chain execution and meet sales targets and KPIs.
β’ Reach designated volume and margin business plan goals for Food and Beverage categories.
β’ Assist in the cross-functional development of sales plans, strategies, objectives, policies, and procedures.
β’ Identify market, industry, and competitive opportunities for profitable expansion.
β’ Manage trade and departmental budget expenditures, P&L statements, and margin objectives.
β’ Lead regional chain account initiatives and targets in support of the broker network.
β’ Sustain existing business, cultivate new opportunities, and fulfill customer and segment objectives.
β’ Create and implement annual customer business plans with growth targets.
β’ Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts for both renewals and new opportunities.
β’ Plan and execute quarterly business reviews.
β’ Build relationships across customer organizations, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Culinary, purchasing, R&D, operations, senior executives, and field operations.
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with Smucker and customer teams, including Legal, QA, Customer Marketing, Channel Commercialization, Accounting, and Revenue Growth Management.
β’ Analyze business opportunities to penetrate existing accounts and acquire new Top 300 national chain foodservice accounts.
β’ Implement Top 301β600 regional chain foodservice account strategy.
β’ Own annual joint business planning, quarterly business reviews, and other relevant meetings.
β’ A bachelorβs degree is required.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of experience managing National Chain Foodservice Account business, with knowledge of the industry, national chain account customers, products, and competition.
β’ Understanding of Foodservice Supply Chain customer needs and opportunities.
β’ Proven experience with Broker Management.
β’ Strong negotiation skills are essential.
β’ Ability to apply strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time to manage face-to-face customer relationships.
β’ Must reside near a major airport.
