This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Identify, pursue, and cultivate new client relationships across designated markets.
• Oversee the entire sales process from initial outreach to proposal, negotiation, and closing.
• Create and implement a business development strategy that aligns with AEI’s organizational goals.
• Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients and prospects throughout the engagement process.
• Collaborate with service line leaders and operations teams to craft proposals and define scopes of work.
• Represent AEI at industry conferences, trade associations, and networking events.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of pipeline data and activity records in AEI’s CRM platform.
• Work with marketing on targeted campaigns, thought leadership content, and client-facing materials.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling within existing client accounts.
• Provide market insights and client feedback to enhance service delivery and business strategy.
• Achieve or surpass quarterly and annual revenue targets.
• Drive revenue growth across AEI’s environmental, property condition, zoning, surveying, valuation, construction risk, and sustainability services.
• Build and nurture client relationships while managing the overall client experience throughout the engagement lifecycle.
• Prior experience in business development within the commercial real estate, commercial financial lending, or due diligence sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Strong leadership capabilities and comprehensive knowledge of business markets.
• Skill in selling profitable work and fostering positive collaborative relationships with technical teams.
• Capability to manage an annual revenue range of $500,000 to $1 million.
• Experience in maintaining an annual book of business with developers, property owners, and/or government entities.
• Excellent communication skills.
