This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Establish and take charge of high-level business development OKRs across targeted regions, vertical markets, and segments.
• Convert company strategy into quarterly plans featuring measurable outcomes.
• Identify and prioritize promising use cases and companies for Lightning, agentic payments, and stablecoins.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to determine roadmap priorities and feature timelines based on customer and developer feedback.
• Design pricing structures, packaging, and deal models, including volume-based, tiered, usage-based, and partner revenue-share arrangements.
• Take the lead in securing and closing strategic, multi-stakeholder deals with exchanges, AI companies, PSPs, wallets, fintechs, miners, and enterprise adopters.
• Establish a forecasting and pipeline cadence that includes coverage, stage definitions, velocity, and win/loss metrics in collaboration with Finance.
• Source and prioritize potential new partners and channels.
• Develop joint go-to-market initiatives with processors, liquidity providers, compliance vendors, custody providers, and infrastructure partners.
• Create distribution flywheels that drive developer adoption, merchant enablement, and payment volume.
• Unlock high-value payment corridors.
• Align customer business goals with technical integrations, integration partners, and liquidity resources.
• Produce executive-ready narratives, pitch decks, RFPs, and board/partner updates that connect Lightning capabilities to business impact.
• Represent Lightning Labs in senior-level meetings, conferences, and engagements with media/analysts.
• Contribute thought leadership to advance the industry.
• 7–10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, and/or solution-focused enterprise sales within a fintech, payments, AI, or other relevant technology company.
• Proven track record of developing GTM strategies and closing complex, multi-party commercial agreements.
• Strong technical and product knowledge, including proficiency in bitcoin/Lightning concepts such as routing, liquidity, settlement, Taproot Assets/stablecoins, and agentic payments.
• Proficient in using frontier LLMs and AI tools, with a readiness to integrate them at all levels.
• Comfortable leading a small team while also functioning as a senior individual contributor.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly with C-suite, product, legal, and technical stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making; comfortable building ROI/TCO models and understanding deal economics.
• Capability to work autonomously across different time zones.
• Willingness to align work hours with US time zones.
• Openness to travel for key customer engagements and events.
• Preferred: public writings or presentations on global payments, bitcoin/Lightning, AI, or stablecoins.
• Preferred: a robust network among exchanges, AI companies, PSPs, wallets, fintechs, and payment facilitators, particularly in LATAM, Asia, or Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Preferred: experience in launching or scaling developer-led distribution and partner channels.
• Preferred: familiarity with compliance considerations in cryptocurrency/payments and their implications for GTM strategies.
