This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Identify, target, and secure enterprise-level business development opportunities within ports, terminals, ferry systems, pilot associations, and coastal infrastructure organizations.
• Spearhead the complete B2B technical sales process, from account mapping and initial outreach to ROI modeling, generating commercial quotes, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
• Cultivate trust-based relationships with senior operational decision-makers, harbour masters, port authorities, and C-suite executives.
• Conduct product demonstrations, interpret oceanographic data products, and present tailored value/ROI frameworks.
• Onboard and manage around six existing regional accounts over a structured 3–6 month transition while actively pursuing new opportunities.
• Represent MarineLabs at trade shows, conferences, and customer engagements.
• Drive growth in Eastern Canada and establish a foundation for expansion into UK and European markets.
• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise business development or sales.
• A proven history of opening new markets, building trust with executive buyers, and successfully closing new B2B deals.
• Experience in selling technical software, hardware-enabled data solutions, or intricate B2B technology platforms.
• Strong aptitude for technical and sales engineering.
• Comfort with customer data, constructing ROI arguments, and delivering technical product demonstrations.
• A proactive, hunter mindset characterized by exceptional self-drive, curiosity, and initiative.
• Based in Eastern Canada or aligned with the Eastern Time Zone.
• Willingness to travel 25%–50% across target regions, with occasional visits to the U.S., Europe, or the headquarters located in Victoria, BC.
• Direct experience in maritime, shipping, marine transportation, ocean technology, or coastal infrastructure is a plus.
• Education or practical experience in engineering or a related technical discipline is advantageous.
• Familiarity with maritime operational challenges, safety regulations, and issues related to weather-induced downtime is beneficial.
