This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Cultivate, develop, and manage relationships with a portfolio of small business clients.
• Establish a pipeline for new business and enhance BMO’s market presence.
• Utilize consultative sales and business development strategies for an assigned portfolio/jurisdiction.
• Identify opportunities and refer them to appropriate BMO colleagues.
• Create and implement sales strategies aimed at attracting new business clients and growing existing relationships.
• Build internal and external networks as well as referral sources.
• Generate appointments and opportunities through focused sales initiatives.
• Formulate, maintain, and execute business plans and relationship management strategies.
• Identify potential customers and cross-sell products and services.
• Establish client rapport, credibility, and trust.
• Gain an understanding of the local market and foster relationships with key influencers.

• Typically requires 4–6 years of relevant experience.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong financial analysis capabilities.
• Ability to interpret financial statements.
• Proficient in assessing creditworthiness.
• Skilled in providing actionable insights to foster business growth and mitigate risks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of business banking products.
• Familiarity with lending processes and loan documentation.
• Understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and technologies.
• Significant experience in customer sales and service.
• Technical skills acquired through education and/or professional experience.
