Business Analyst – Advanced

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Assess the business landscape, key drivers, and anticipated outcomes to ensure they align with strategic objectives and stakeholder needs.

• Gather, validate, and document business requirements utilizing structured methodologies.

• Evaluate current and future business models to pinpoint value streams, capabilities, and operational impacts.

• Analyze and assess existing processes to uncover inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for enhancement.

• Develop visual representations of workflows using standard notations.

• Contrast current and desired states to identify capability gaps and explore potential solutions.

• Translate business requirements into functional specifications.

• Identify, evaluate, and document risks, along with strategies for mitigation.

• Prepare and sustain both functional and technical documentation.

• Create Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications, and User Stories complete with acceptance criteria.

• Establish and oversee acceptance criteria; assist in test case design and user acceptance testing.

• Ensure requirements traceability and manage change requests effectively.

• Document non-functional requirements in conjunction with functional requirements.

• Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, developers, and testers.

• Analyze system integrations, focusing on REST APIs, message-based interactions, data mapping, and cross-system workflows.

• Conduct impact analysis, evaluate change requests, maintain and refine the product backlog, and break down requirements into prioritized user stories.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of complex information systems and the software development lifecycle.

• Practical experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, and iterative software delivery techniques.

• Familiarity with requirements analysis and functional decomposition methods, including functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Experience in managing requirements and product backlogs using Jira, focusing on the prioritization and refinement of user stories.

• Proficiency with collaboration and documentation tools such as Confluence and SharePoint.

• Knowledge of business process modeling using BPMN and related modeling tools like Enterprise Architect.

• Understanding of procurement management workflows and relevant financial and contractual business rules.

• Experience with system-to-system integrations, encompassing REST APIs and message-based interactions.

• Skills in data mapping, data modeling, and validation of cross-system workflows.

• Capability in defining business and validation rules for financial and contractual operations.

• Experience in impact analysis and evaluation of change requests across interconnected information systems.

• Knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting application issues.

• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.

• Understanding of Java-based enterprise applications and microservice architectures.

• Experience in preparing and maintaining functional and technical documentation that aligns with enterprise architecture and governance standards.

• Proven ability to support functional and integration testing, collaborating with product owners, architects, developers, and testers.

• EU citizenship is required.
