Bus Service Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Plan, coordinate, and implement rail replacement bus services in remote areas of Greater London.

• Supervise daily service operations to ensure compliance with schedules, routes, contracts, and regulations.

• Monitor key performance indicators such as punctuality, reliability, headways, disruptions, staffing, and vehicle movements.

• Lead, brief, deploy, coach, and provide support to Rail Replacement Controllers and roadside Bus Controllers.

• Collaborate with internal control teams as well as external partners including Transport for London, Network Rail, and train operating companies.

• Manage driver instructions, changeovers, stand allocations, breaks, and maintain operational records.

• Promote safety, enforce risk controls on routes, brief drivers, and escalate any incidents as necessary.

• Assist with customer information and passenger support during service disruptions.

• Facilitate route familiarization, conduct risk assessments, allocate resources, and perform site visits and route surveys.

• Track KPIs, generate service and incident reports, and contribute to post-operation reviews and ongoing improvement efforts.

• Report directly to the Commercial Services Support Manager.

• Demonstrated experience in bus operations, preferably in rail replacement or high-frequency services.

• Experience in managing or supervising operational teams.

• Strong grasp of service control, headway management, and handling disruptions.

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

• Capacity to perform under pressure and make effective real-time decisions.

• Solid understanding of health & safety and regulatory standards.

• Proficient in utilizing operational systems and reporting tools.
