This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, coordinate, and support the annual budget process for OHSU.
• Offer financial assistance for the collection and processing of budget data across Research, Education, and Central Research & Academic business lines.
• Create and maintain Profit & Loss statements, Budget Status reports, and instructional-level documents.
• Manage the monthly variance analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
• Balance and reconcile accounts for Academic units.
• Present financial data, insights, analyses, and recommendations to executives, directors, administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Validate and input budget data in accordance with approved budgets.
• Prepare operating budgets, financial forecasts, scenarios, and projections.
• Monitor department commitments, expenses, and financial objectives.
• Mentor and support financial employees in Education as well as Research & Education finance staff.
• Compile monthly financial reports and provide recommendations to address negative trends.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, new program pro formas, and specialized financial reports.
• Approve requisitions, journal entries, and expenditure requests while verifying expense budgeting.
• Manage expenditures and monitoring for special projects and initiative funds.
• Collaborate with Finance Officers, Directors, Administrators, and others to define and allocate strategic resources.
• Provide oral and written financial guidance and recommendations.
• Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 18 credit hours in accounting and/or finance from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of six years of experience in financial, budget, or payroll analysis.
• At least one year of supervisory or management experience.
• A Master of Business Administration or Finance, or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation may substitute for two years of experience.
• Highly skilled in computer usage, particularly in database and spreadsheet applications.
• Proficient in Windows and PC applications, including Excel, Oracle, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capable of mentoring and coaching a work unit.
• Ability to organize resources, personnel, and activities to achieve project and functional objectives.
• Skilled in prioritizing and coordinating multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Effective communicator with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience with Oracle AIS.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience utilizing Cognos TM1.
• Preferred: experience with business intelligence tools.
• Preferred: familiarity with central funding, allocations, and state funding.
• Preferred: knowledge of OHSU Policies and Procedures.
