Books Sales, Marketing Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Assist in the daily operations essential for the effective functioning of the book sales and marketing department.

• Contribute to the optimal selling and marketing strategies for books.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of both frontlist and backlist book content.

• Aid in the implementation of sales and marketing plans.

• Support the tactical components of sales and marketing strategies and objectives.

• Prepare and disseminate internal news alerts.

• Coordinate the distribution of review copies.

• Design and upload Amazon A+ content.

• Create promotional materials such as author flyers.

• Assist with webinars and other presentation formats.

• Collect, review, and extract leads from author questionnaires.

• Research potential sales and marketing opportunities.

• Optimize metadata for better visibility.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a field related to sales, marketing, communications, writing, English, or branding is required.

• A minimum of one year of experience in sales and marketing or publishing is advantageous.

• Relevant experience in book publishing, including internships, is preferred.

• A willingness to learn about the art of book publishing marketing and sales.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

• Strong writing and editing skills.

• Familiarity with tools such as Bookscan, Firebrand, Onix, Salesforce, and Canva is beneficial.

• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

• Passion for books, publishing, as well as sales and marketing.

• Understanding of APA’s mission and its connection to the publishing program.
