Books Sales & Marketing Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist in the daily operations essential for the effective functioning of the book sales and marketing department.

• Play a role in optimizing the sales and marketing of books.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of both current and past book content.

• Aid in the implementation of sales and marketing strategies.

• Support the tactical components of sales and marketing goals and strategies.

• Prepare and circulate internal news updates.

• Organize the distribution of review copies.

• Create and upload Amazon A+ content.

• Develop author flyers and additional marketing materials.

• Assist with webinars and other presentations.

• Collect, review, and analyze leads from author questionnaires.

• Investigate sales and marketing opportunities.

• Enhance metadata.

• Perform other assigned tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a field related to sales, marketing, communications, writing, English, or branding is required.

• At least one year of experience in sales and marketing or publishing is advantageous.

• Relevant experience in book publishing, including internships, is beneficial.

• A strong desire to understand the intricacies of book publishing marketing and sales.

• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.

• Competence in writing and editing.

• Familiarity with Bookscan, Firebrand, Onix, Salesforce, and Canva is a plus.

• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

• Passion for books, publishing, as well as sales and marketing.

• Understanding of APA’s mission and its connection to the publishing program.
