This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage in team-centric architectural choices concerning data modeling, service boundaries, API design, and background processing methodologies.
• Take ownership of feature development from initial technical design through to final delivery.
• Decompose intricate projects into manageable, deliverable components.
• Produce idiomatic, efficient, and thoroughly tested Ruby code.
• Enhance code quality, performance, reliability, and the developer experience.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and design feedback.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to ensure alignment between product objectives and implementation.
• Participate in on-call duties, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and systemic enhancements.
• Document technical choices, data models, and service architectures.
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time spent developing Ruby on Rails applications.
• Proven track record of delivering complex features within a software team to achieve business objectives.
• Experience in translating ambiguous requirements into clear technical plans.
• Familiarity with large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems serving millions of real-time users.
• Advanced expertise in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong PostgreSQL capabilities, including schema design, query optimization, migrations, and performance at scale.
• Experience in designing and building RESTful APIs using Rails.
• Solid knowledge of testing practices utilizing RSpec or Minitest, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies.
• Familiarity with background job processing technologies like Sidekiq.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous challenges.
• Comfortable giving and receiving direct technical feedback.
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in a fully remote setting.
• Capable of balancing technical tasks with collaborative design and planning.
