Board Certified Physician Reviewer – Orthopedic Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Dane Street operates as an Independent Review Organization and is a national provider of Utilization Review services, among other offerings. We are currently expanding our physician panel, creating opportunities for non-traditional physician roles and supplemental income. This position offers a telework opportunity for physicians, allowing for a caseload tailored to your schedule.

• Our physician panel consists of independent contract reviewers (1099), who are compensated on a per-case basis.

• We are seeking professionals in the specialties listed below who hold an active **Minnesota License** to evaluate the medical necessity of treatment requests, as well as the medical necessity of services previously denied during appeals.

• Orthopedic Surgery

• On average, most reviews take about 15-20 minutes, enabling the completion of several cases within a single hour.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a current, unrestricted Minnesota Medical License.

• Active practice is required.

• Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery is necessary.

• The typical turnaround time (TAT) ranges from 1-5 business days, depending on the review level. Although same-day cases are uncommon, they can occur. Dane Street will keep you informed of required turnaround times and meticulously coordinate all administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on clinical decision-making.

• Dane Street presents a streamlined case flow along with a user-friendly work portal. We manage all communication, organize and categorize all medical records, support administrative processes, thoroughly prepare cases, and ensure quality and timely delivery of all determinations and reports.

• A chronological listing of medical records and all treatment guidelines used for determinations are provided in an easy-to-view format.

• In instances where peer-to-peer calls are necessary (for adverse determinations), Dane Street’s peer coordinators will secure provider availability.

• Dane Street provides initial training as well as an ongoing point of contact for any questions regarding the completion of reviews.
