This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Respond to service calls to assess, diagnose, repair, and conduct planned maintenance on increasingly complex customer biomedical equipment.
• Analyze intricate customer biomedical equipment problems and carry out necessary repairs.
• Execute planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections, while maintaining customer relationships.
• Adhere to and guide others in accordance with GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and required documentation.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with teammates and colleagues.
• Establish proactive daily communication with customers to ensure issues are resolved and followed up on.
• Implement GE/customer facility contracts to support business goals and objectives.
• Lead, instruct, and support technicians in both basic and complex repairs.
• Work collaboratively as part of the local team to deliver services to assigned accounts.
• Share on-call and pager responsibilities.
• Document repair actions and submit reports and summaries.
• Maintain care, calibration, and inventory of spare parts, tools, test equipment, and components.
• Manage vendor service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies.
• Keep up-to-date technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
• May act as Site Leader, directing the activities of Biomedical Technicians assigned to a site.
• Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements.
• Complete necessary quality and compliance training.
• Identify and report customer quality or compliance issues to the Quality Organization.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education with 2+ years of experience in servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience in servicing medical equipment.
• Possess analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to customers in an easily understandable manner.
• Must adhere to GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.
• Must comply with customer access policies, including necessary immunizations and any additional drug tests or background checks as required.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
• Must frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and exhibit good hand and finger dexterity.
• Specific vision capabilities may include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.
