This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Respond to service requests to assess, diagnose, and repair basic biomedical equipment for customers.

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and safety/environmental inspections as allocated.

• Support seasoned technicians with both basic and advanced repairs and solutions.

• Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and colleagues.

• Adhere to GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and fulfill necessary documentation.

• Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure issues are resolved and followed up.

• Implement GE/customer facility contracts and assist in achieving business objectives as directed.

• Deliver efficient service to accounts within the designated area.

• Share on-call duties once adequately trained.

• Document repair activities and submit reports and summaries in a timely manner.

• Ensure proper care, tracking, and calibration of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment.

• Keep up-to-date with technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment.

• Utilize manuals, technical support, FaceTime, and online resources to address inquiries during scheduled maintenance.

• Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and other regulatory requirements.

• Complete quality and compliance training and report any customer concerns.

• Accurately document work orders, service reports, time and expense reports, planned maintenance, purchase orders, and other related responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of experience in servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment.

• One year of relevant experience.

• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical issues to customers.

• Must pass GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.

• Compliance with customer access policies, including necessary immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks as applicable.

• Restricted to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not provided.

• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. without assistance.

• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for extended periods.

• Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good manual dexterity.

• Specific vision capabilities may include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

• Willingness to work after hours or on a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as required.

• Awareness of and adherence to GEHC quality policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.

• Completion of planned Quality and Compliance training within specified deadlines.

• Ability to identify and report customer quality or compliance issues.

• Competence in promptly and accurately documenting work orders, service reports, time and expense reports, PM activities, purchase orders, and other responsibilities.

• Ability to ensure that testing equipment is tracked and calibrated on schedule.
