Bioinformatics Engineer – Customer Engagement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as a reliable technical partner for Seqera’s major enterprise clients in the pharmaceutical sector.

• Foster customer relationships and enhance engagement and adoption of the Seqera Platform, including Nextflow, Studios, Fusion, and Wave.

• Collaborate directly within customer environments to implement, scale, and extract value from Seqera products in both cloud and HPC settings.

• Address technical challenges in partnership with customer scientists and engineers.

• Promote the health, retention, and growth of strategic accounts by identifying risks and showcasing ongoing value.

• Execute targeted services engagements, such as onboarding, pipeline optimization, custom workflow support, and best-practice recommendations.

• Facilitate and support technical syncs, product upgrades, proofs of concept, and workshops.

• Articulate technical concepts and share insights with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Partner with Customer Experience, Product, and R&D teams, representing the customer's voice.

• Contribute to engagement tools and the knowledge base to monitor account health and enable proactive, data-driven interactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Practical experience in developing and executing Nextflow pipelines (nf-core and/or custom) in either an academic or professional context.

• Proficient in a Linux command-line environment and scripting with Bash and/or Python.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), with eagerness to deepen expertise.

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub for code management.

• Authentic customer-focused mindset.

• Self-driven and proactive, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively while managing multiple accounts and priorities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical concepts to scientists, engineers, and less technical stakeholders.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Detail-oriented and organized.

• Creative and inquisitive approach to solutions provided to clients.

• Application must include a link to a public code repository and a brief narrative detailing abilities, growth over time, and use of AI without bias.
