This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate BIM strategies that foster organizational growth and innovation in collaboration with senior and executive leadership.
• Create and implement mechanical BIM standards, templates, and model management processes.
• Propel the adoption of Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo, CDE platforms, and other integrated design technologies.
• Lead initiatives for change management to enhance BIM performance, efficiency, and collaboration.
• Oversee the mechanical BIM roadmap ensuring alignment with departmental and firmwide objectives.
• Supervise daily mechanical BIM operations, ensuring quality, accuracy, and coordination.
• Establish and monitor QA/QC workflows for models, deliverables, and data management.
• Mentor and support project BIM Leads while ensuring compliance with DLB protocols.
• Collaborate with IT and technology teams on system reliability, data security, and workflow optimization.
• Execute performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as a high-level technical liaison during client coordination, design-assist, and construction phases.
• Represent BIM in client and internal reviews while identifying digital opportunities.
• Work alongside Project Managers, Design Directors, and Engineers of Record to align model fidelity and design intent.
• Assist in business development and client presentations by showcasing BIM capabilities.
• Cultivate relationships with clients, contractors, and partners to enhance project outcomes.
• Assess emerging design and construction technologies and spearhead pilot initiatives.
• Integrate data-driven insights, automation, and interoperability tools into workflows.
• Collaborate with software vendors and internal developers to enhance BIM functionality through customization or scripting.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff in advanced BIM techniques, computational design, and model-based collaboration.
• Advocate for BIM utilization in sustainability, performance analysis, and lifecycle data management.
• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables punctually and within budget.
• Direct the strategic application of technology, digital platforms, and AI-enabled tools to boost efficiency, forecasting, documentation, reporting, and quality processes.
• Facilitate the adoption of analytics, data visualization, and digital construction management platforms.
• Ensure technology solutions comply with data security, privacy, and operational integrity standards.
• Encourage innovation, continuous improvement, performance, and scalability.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of thirteen (13) years of experience in mechanical design and BIM management.
• Proven leadership in BIM implementation across various projects and teams.
• Autodesk Revit Professional Certification or equivalent experience is required.
• Advanced comprehension of BIM processes, standards, and integrated design delivery.
• Strong technical foundation in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems design within the BIM framework.
• In-depth knowledge of BIM software ecosystems and digital collaboration platforms.
• Understanding of model data structures, interoperability, and visualization for informed decision-making.
• Exceptional ability in leading multi-disciplinary BIM teams and coordinating with project leadership.
• Advanced skills in creating and implementing digital workflows and automation tools.
• Strong ability to maintain model accuracy, compliance, and consistency across projects.
• Proficient in developing and delivering BIM education and competency programs.
• Ability to extract insights from model data to guide design and operational strategy.
• Capability to align BIM initiatives with organizational and client objectives.
• Proficient in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
• Excellent ability to communicate complex digital concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Capacity to anticipate and implement emerging technologies to enhance performance and value.
• Skilled in guiding teams through technological transformation.
• Ability to remain stationary and frequently navigate through office, facility, and other environments.
• Occasionally required to move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Up to 10% business travel, potentially covering any or all 50 US states.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent registration is preferred.
