Billing Specialist – Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and oversee the complete billing operations across multiple revenue streams.

• Guarantee precise billing of pricing, usage, discounts, client contracts, sales orders, and tax/regulatory obligations.

• Direct the billing closure, reconciliations, and resolution of billing discrepancies.

• Assist the A/R Manager with the month-end closing process and support the General Ledger (GL) team with month-end revenue inquiries.

• Prepare monthly provisions for bad debts and uphold stringent revenue assurance controls to avert revenue loss.

• Serve as the finance business lead for billing systems.

• Spearhead testing, data migration, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and cutover activities.

• Work collaboratively with support and sales teams to verify information, address discrepancies, and manage processing challenges.

• Promptly respond to internal and external billing inquiries, resolving client questions and managing credit notes in accordance with company policy.

• Oversee, mentor, and coach the billing specialist.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory and tax requirements, and assist with internal/external audit needs as necessary.

• Perform additional finance-related tasks to support the business's growth phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in an accounting or billing setting.

• Previous experience in a team leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.

• Proven track record working for a software company or in a high-volume subscription/usage-based billing environment is greatly preferred.

• Prior experience with system migrations, UAT testing, or the implementation of ERP/billing systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Salesforce) is a significant advantage.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Proficiency in English (both verbal and written) is essential.

• Exceptional skills in MS Excel are crucial, with a strong ability to process large amounts of data.

• Competence in MS Word is required.
