This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Address disputed claims by collecting, verifying, and providing additional information while following up on claims.

• Resolve inconsistencies by analyzing and assessing data to determine appropriate corrective measures.

• Ensure operational continuity by adhering to policies and procedures while reporting any compliance issues.

• Uphold quality standards by aligning with company protocols.

• Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and staying updated on Medicaid/Medicare billing and reimbursement processes.

• Execute other assigned tasks as needed.

• Report directly to the Billing and Coding Supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• At least two years of experience in medical office billing procedures.

• Billing Certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with clinic policies and operational procedures.

• Understanding of third-party payers, Medicare, Medicaid Billing/Collections, HCPC, CPT, and ICD-9 coding.

• Proficiency in computer systems, programs, data entry, and spreadsheet applications.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to analyze information.

• Understanding of collection practices.

• Awareness of governmental, legal, and regulatory aspects related to collection activities.

• Competence in gathering and reporting claims information.

• Ability to resolve utilization issues effectively.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with customer relations expertise.

• Experience with Windows-based software systems.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with medical staff and external organizations.

• Skill in identifying, analyzing, and resolving claim issues.

• Ability to interact courteously and professionally with internal and external clients.

• Familiarity with a typical busy office environment involving significant telephone work.

• Willingness to work long hours as required.
