This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua, +5 more countries.
• Manage and oversee patient referrals from the initial stage to finalization.
• Submit, monitor, and follow up on insurance authorizations.
• Arrange appointments and facilitate communication with specialists and external providers.
• Ensure precise referral tracking and follow up on any outstanding items.
• Reach out to patients concerning referrals, appointments, authorizations, and necessary documentation.
• Oversee the transfer and reception of medical records between providers and facilities.
• Engage with referring providers, specialists, insurance companies, and other healthcare entities.
• Confirm that essential clinical documentation is accessible and correctly routed.
• Accurately update patient and referral information in eClinicalWorks (ECW).
• Monitor pending referrals and authorizations to guarantee timely completion.
• Follow up with patients and providers to avert delays in care.
• Handle sensitive patient information in line with HIPAA regulations and practice policies.
• Execute additional administrative and coordination duties as required.
• Proficient in both English and Spanish – spoken and written.
• Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is MANDATORY.
• Prior experience in medical referrals, insurance authorization, referral coordination, medical scheduling, or healthcare administration.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Clear spoken English with minimal to no noticeable accent.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent follow-up skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple referral and authorization cases concurrently.
• Comfortable engaging directly with patients, providers, specialists, and insurance agents.
• Proficient computer and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and the significance of maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Dependable remote-work setup with stable internet connectivity and a professional workspace.
• Experience interfacing with insurance companies and payer portals.
• Familiarity with obtaining or following up on prior authorizations.
• Experience in coordinating specialist referrals.
• Experience in the transfer of medical records.
• Previous experience within U.S. healthcare practices.
• Understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes.
• Required qualifications in eClinicalWorks (ECW), referral coordination, insurance authorization, bilingual English/Spanish, clear English communication with minimal accent, and healthcare/medical administrative work.
• Full-time contractor role.
• 40 hours per week.
• Hourly rate negotiable based on skill set and experience.
• Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST.
