This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct inquiries to identify, evaluate, make decisions on, and report activities that suggest exposure to financial crimes.
• Assess, document, manage, and escalate potential threats and investigations in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Offer subject matter expertise and oversight of criminal risk through a disciplined, intelligence-driven approach.
• Assist in compliance efforts and generate trends, analyses, and insights.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations for enhancing processes and customer service.
• Monitor and analyze information from detection systems, tools, reports, and manual sources.
• Gather and support evidence for incident reports, filings, loss prevention, litigation, criminal prosecution, management information, statistics, and process enhancements.
• Record investigation actions and findings in account and case files.
• Develop and sustain an understanding of financial crime management processes, frameworks, and techniques.
• Collect and format data for both regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.
• Analyze data and information to deliver insights and recommendations.
• Process routine service requests, transactions, and queries within service level agreements.
• Notify and provide information and instructions to both internal and external stakeholders regarding incidents.
• Complete complex and varied tasks, handling escalations from other employees.
• Analyze issues and determine appropriate next steps.
• Implement BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with business strategy, policies, laws, and regulations.
• Familiarity with risk and regulatory requirements as they pertain to financial crimes is advantageous.
• Understanding of banking products, services, processes, and organization is beneficial.
