This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a portfolio of K-12 and cooperative foodservice accounts.
• Foster customer retention, achieve profitable growth, ensure program compliance, and enhance long-term partnership value.
• Maintain consistent contact with customers through business reviews, personal visits, meetings, and regular follow-ups.
• Act as the primary point of contact between customers, cooperative organizations, vendors, and internal US Foods teams.
• Formulate account strategies to discern customer needs, increase sales opportunities, support the growth of new accounts, and deepen customer engagement.
• Assist with school-year menu planning and forecasting, including end-of-year wind down, summer feeding programs, and opening orders.
• Manage customer forecasts, proprietary inventory requirements, delivery schedules, service levels, and product availability.
• Keep account profiles, order guides, statements, pricing details, forecasts, reports, and contract documentation up-to-date.
• Supervise product mix, branded objectives, stocking agreements, product launches, receipt confirmations, and customer-specific product needs.
• Communicate with customers about performance, service metrics, shortages, market trends, new products, programs, and strategic initiatives.
• Evaluate sales trends, purchasing behavior, pricing strategies, rebates, bid requirements, incentive agreements, and contract adherence.
• Collaborate with Credit, Finance, Merchandising, Procurement, Operations, Transportation, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to address issues.
• Represent US Foods at sales meetings, training events, food shows, conferences, and industry gatherings.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on K-12 foodservice and procurement programs as necessary.
• Execute additional duties as assigned by the manager.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales support, sales, customer service, or a related business field.
• Proven history of building and sustaining customer relationships.
• Experience in Contract Management.
• Proficient in utilizing quantitative and qualitative research data.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills along with customer service and presentation capabilities.
• Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and negotiation.
• Ability to perform analysis and make fact-based decisions regarding contract compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• Must be based in the designated Indianapolis market.
• Willingness to travel to various sites within the assigned market as necessary.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing.
• Preferred: Familiarity with US Foods' proprietary applications.
• Preferred: Experience in the foodservice industry or a related field.
• Preferred: Background in managing or supporting contract-based K-12 education customer segments.
• Preferred: Experience with master distributor agreements, contract compliance, pricing coordination, and conducting customer business reviews.
• Preferred: Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in support of customer priorities and business objectives.
