This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct commissioning, startup, testing, and validation of PCS, ESS, and PVI systems at client locations.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections, firmware updates, and system health assessments.
• Identify and resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, communication, networking, and control systems, implementing corrective repairs as needed.
• Address customer service inquiries and deliver both onsite and remote technical assistance.
• Evaluate system alarms, logs, and operational data to determine root causes and execute corrective measures.
• Configure and validate system settings, communication protocols, and controller specifications.
• Facilitate system integration with SCADA, EMS, BMS, utility, and third-party monitoring solutions.
• Conduct acceptance testing, functional verification, and prepare commissioning reports.
• Offer technical training to customers, contractors, and field personnel.
• Compile service reports, commissioning documentation, maintenance records, and technical insights.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Quality teams by providing field observations.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, client site regulations, electrical safety standards, and industry guidelines.
• Maintain company tools, testing equipment, firmware, spare parts, and service inventory.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Power Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Relevant industry experience may be considered equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in commissioning, servicing, or troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment, power electronics, renewable energy systems, UPS systems, ESS, PCS, solar inverters, or similar equipment.
• Strong comprehension of three-phase power systems, AC/DC power conversion, electrical distribution, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with battery energy storage systems, lithium-ion battery technologies, inverter systems, and grid-connected power systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation resistance testers, clamp meters, and power analyzers.
• Knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, CAN, RS-485, and TCP/IP networking.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong customer service capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while juggling multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Capability to obtain a passport for domestic and international travel, if necessary.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical components.
• Experience with BESS, utility-scale solar, microgrids, or renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with commissioning medium-voltage or utility-scale power conversion equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, EMS, and industrial networking.
• OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or equivalent electrical safety certification.
• Background in utility interconnection requirements and grid support functions.
• Previous experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, or utility-scale renewable energy initiatives.
