BI Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct and enhance the performance of the Business Intelligence engineering team

• Supervise the design, development, and deployment of BI systems and solutions

• Set Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data availability and precision

• Create and sustain data visualizations through dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI, Looker, or Tableau

• Conduct discovery sessions informed by business requirements through code and documentation assessments, application testing, and meetings with engineering and system owners

• Integrate external data sources and construct long-term data pipelines connecting to the organization’s primary data warehouse

• Architect and implement intricate SQL/dbt data models for dashboards and ad hoc analyses

• Automate dbt/SQL models by employing ETL orchestration tools

• Design, develop, and manage Airflow Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) for ETL pipelines

• Facilitate production deployment through CI/CD monitoring tools

• Offer peer code review insights on GitHub pull requests

• Lead, mentor, and partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders

• Contribute to the formulation of data strategy and roadmap

• Establish standards for data governance, quality control, and documentation

• Oversee projects utilizing Kanban, Agile, or Scrum methodologies

• Execute and document advanced analyses within large-scale data warehouse environments

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related discipline

• Five (5) years of experience as a Marketing Analyst, Marketing Analytics Manager, Data Science Program Manager, BI Engineer, or a similar role

• Two (2) of the five (5) years of experience must be in a managerial or team lead capacity within a BI engineering/data warehousing or related industry

• Proven expertise and experience with Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Databricks

• Proven expertise and experience with Power BI, Looker, or Tableau

• Proven expertise and experience with Confluence, Notion, or Google Docs/Drive

• Proven expertise and experience with Apache Airflow, MWAA, or dbt Jobs

• Proven expertise and experience in designing and implementing complex data models using SQL queries in dbt

• Proven expertise and experience in designing, building, and maintaining DAGs for ETL pipelines in Apache Airflow

• Proven expertise and experience in leading, mentoring, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders

• Familiarity with CircleCI or GitHub Actions

• Familiarity with Kanban, Agile, or Scrum methodologies

• Must possess U.S. employment authorization
