Benefits Verification Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Verify insurance coverage and benefits for prospective admissions utilizing Availity, Verify TX, and, when necessary, payer outreach.

• Collect comprehensive and precise information for each benefits verification.

• Enter insurance information into SalesForce.

• Maintain professional and courteous communication over the phone.

• Work collaboratively with team members to enhance efficiency and prevent duplication of efforts.

• Generate biweekly reports on current census insurance coverage.

• Prioritize urgent benefits verifications as directed by the admissions management team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in insurance, particularly in Verification of Benefits, is required.

• Proficient in verifying active, valid policy coverage including specific services covered, payment percentages, co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements for various plans.

• Light billing and collections experience is preferred.

• Experience in Behavioral Health settings is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Verification of Benefits is essential.

• Strong professional and courteous phone communication skills are necessary.

• Ability to perform accurate data entry and capture of insurance information.

• Familiarity with systems such as Availity, Verify TX, and SalesForce is important.
