This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee customer schedules to manage next-day appointments or updates to insurance information added outside standard daytime BVA coverage.
• Confirm patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to services scheduled for the next day.
• Assess patient financial responsibilities for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
• Prioritize tasks based on appointment urgency, ensuring that the earliest next-day appointments receive attention first.
• Recognize prior authorization requirements and take necessary actions when feasible.
• Thoroughly document and communicate authorization requirements or other items needing payer or clinic follow-up during regular business hours.
• Accurately record benefit verification and authorization details in the system.
• Identify any missing information or obstacles that hinder verification and clearly outline the necessary subsequent steps.
• Provide an effective handoff to the daytime BVA team for any outstanding issues that cannot be resolved overnight.
• Collaborate with BVA, scheduling, billing, and accounts receivable teams to ensure proper workflows.
• Detect trends in late-added appointments, benefit complications, or authorization challenges and escalate as necessary.
• Assist in denial prevention initiatives by ensuring payer requirements are identified and addressed from the outset.
• Contribute to additional BVA tasks and operational priorities once next-day coverage obligations are fulfilled.
• 1–2 years of experience in benefit verification, medical insurance, or prior authorization.
• Solid understanding of commercial and government payers, insurance policies, and healthcare terminology.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, providers, and payers.
• Familiarity with payer authorization portals and associated workflows.
• Knowledge of denial management and the insurance appeals process.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
• High level of reliability, integrity, and accountability, with a history of managing time-sensitive responsibilities and following through on commitments.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Residing in the United States.
• Willing and able to consistently work an evening/overnight schedule from Sunday to Thursday, including a fixed Sunday shift from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM EST.
