This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee monthly benefits reconciliation for all carriers and both legal entities.
β’ Detect, investigate, and rectify billing discrepancies.
β’ Ensure data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and carrier systems.
β’ Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and voluntary/ancillary benefits programs.
β’ Manage ACA compliance, including affordability and eligibility tracking, measurement periods, and IRS reporting.
β’ Prepare and submit 1094-C/1095-C forms and address IRS notices.
β’ Ensure adherence to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PCORI, and relevant state benefits mandates.
β’ Lead the shift from level-funded or fully insured medical plans to self-funded plans.
β’ Oversee plan design, stop-loss selection, implementation schedules, funding models, and claims exposure models.
β’ Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HRIS, Payroll, brokers, TPAs, and stop-loss carriers.
β’ Manage the entire open enrollment cycle, including strategy, vendor coordination, system configuration, testing, communications, and post-enrollment audits.
β’ Evaluate benefit utilization, cost patterns, and market benchmarking data.
β’ Handle broker and carrier relationships, renewals, RFPs, and service-level accountability.
β’ Address escalated benefits inquiries and provide education to cross-functional teams.
β’ Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation for benefits operations and audit readiness.
β’ 5 to 8+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits, including direct plan ownership.
β’ Strong understanding of ACA reporting, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and PCORI requirements.
β’ Experience with HRIS, including ADP Workforce Now or similar systems.
β’ Proficient in Excel and possess strong analytical abilities.
β’ Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
β’ Direct, hands-on experience in transitioning from a level-funded or fully insured medical plan to self-funded.
β’ Experience in designing funding arrangements, procuring stop-loss insurance, and financial risk modeling.
β’ Proven track record in benefits reconciliation, including monthly carrier billing audits, addressing eligibility discrepancies, and ensuring data integrity between payroll/HRIS/carrier.
β’ Extensive experience in benefits compliance, ACA management, and reporting, including affordability testing, eligibility tracking, and 1094-C/1095-C filing.
β’ Complete ownership of the open enrollment lifecycle.
β’ Preferred experience in multi-entity and/or multi-state benefits administration.
β’ Experience supporting benefits within a fast-paced healthcare, clinical, or matrixed organization is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with maintaining a benefits knowledge base and ticketing system is preferred.
β’ CEBS, CBP, or equivalent HR/benefits certification is preferred.
β’ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Talkiatry participates in E-Verify.
