This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +27 more states.
• Manage the daily administration of U.S. benefits, encompassing medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and various other benefit programs.
• Oversee enrollments, modifications, and reconciliation of carrier bills, addressing discrepancies until resolved.
• Administer the U.S. 401(k) plan, which includes handling employee inquiries, coordinating with the recordkeeper, conducting annual testing, and providing audit support.
• Assist with benefits renewals and open enrollment, U.S. leave programs, and the management of workers’ compensation.
• Collaborate with the payroll provider to ensure accurate processing of U.S. multi-state and Canadian payroll.
• Examine payroll inputs, reports, deductions, and outputs for each cycle, swiftly identifying and rectifying discrepancies.
• Facilitate state and provincial registrations and tax setups.
• Aid in year-end payroll functions, reconciliations, audits, and compliance filings.
• Act as the main point of contact for payroll and benefits vendors, managing inquiries and issues until resolved.
• Oversee recurring compliance tasks related to ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA reporting, and wage and hour regulations.
• Provide employee assistance through the 3E’s HR Assist ticketing system.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data, payroll inputs, benefit deductions, and documentation.
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal controls.
• Enhance reporting, reconciliations, processes, and systems.
• Support other HR operations or generalist tasks as necessary.
• 5+ years of HR experience, particularly in U.S. benefits, payroll, and compliance.
• 4+ years of direct experience in U.S. benefits administration, specifically involving 401(k) plans.
• 3+ years of experience in U.S. multi-state payroll.
• Proficient understanding of U.S. payroll, benefits, and leave regulations.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accountability, and independent problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and work comfortably with changing processes and systems.
• Must reside in the U.S. in one of the states where 3E is authorized to hire.
• Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
• Canadian payroll experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in supporting employees through an HR ticketing or case management system is preferred.
• Experience working remotely within a distributed team is preferred.
• Familiarity with UKG or similar HRIS/payroll platforms is preferred.
• Experience with compliance reporting or audits, such as ACA, EEO, or AAP, is preferred.
• Interest in or experience with automation, AI-enabled tools, or process optimization is preferred.
