This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Map existing coverage across markets, currencies, rails, and products.
• Develop a pipeline of banks, EMIs, payment institutions, and BaaS providers to address coverage gaps.
• Introduce backup routes to minimize single points of failure.
• Leverage personal network to connect with decision-makers and monitor market trends.
• Take ownership and enhance commercial terms for current partnerships, including pricing, fees, FX spreads, limits, and settlement cycles.
• Regularly assess partner performance and service quality, and revisit terms when circumstances change.
• Broaden existing relationships into new markets, currencies, rails, and products.
• Compare partner costs against market standards.
• Evaluate partners based on coverage, products, pricing, limits, licensing, reputation, and financial health.
• Analyze partner positions on client risk prior to investing in the relationship.
• Lead commercial negotiations and discuss pricing, fees, FX, limits, SLAs, and contract terms.
• Create internal business cases that outline partner costs, value creation, and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal on partner due diligence processes.
• Manage relationships from initial contact through to contract, launch, and ongoing partnership.
• Facilitate onboarding with Compliance, Legal, Tech, and Operations post-signing.
• Keep track of timelines, responsibilities, and next steps for both parties.
• Act as the main point of contact for partner representatives.
• Conduct multiple partner discussions and onboarding processes concurrently.
• Established network within banks, EMIs, PSPs, or other financial institutions, with contacts who will respond to your outreach.
• Over 5 years of experience in payments, banking, or fintech, working directly with financial institutions.
• Proven track record in initiating banking or payment partnerships from scratch.
• Experience in renegotiating existing commercial terms for enhancement.
• Practical experience with SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, or local payment mechanisms.
• Familiarity with IBAN and account products, as well as FX or cross-border transactions.
• Background in building relationships with regulated financial institutions in Europe and/or the UK.
• Comfortable discussing pricing, fees, volumes, limits, and contract terms with senior stakeholders.
• Highly organized, capable of managing multiple partner processes simultaneously.
• Experience guiding a partnership from initial contact through due diligence, contract signing, and go-live.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to resolve stalled initiatives.
