Backend Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia.

📋 Description

• Lead the team across various workstreams, ensuring exceptional quality and effective execution throughout every sprint.

• Take ownership of sprint planning, which includes prioritization, capacity planning, and alignment on sprint objectives and deliverables.

• Collaborate with other departments to eliminate obstacles and manage dependencies across teams.

• Enhance team velocity and individual skills through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and identifying skill gaps.

• Oversee the technical design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable features and solutions.

• Engage directly in high-scale, cloud-based development utilizing Node.js, AWS, and MongoDB.

• Conduct code reviews while advocating for architecture, maintainability, performance, and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with Product Managers from feature conceptualization and technical design through development, release, and production phases.

• Participate in customer technical sessions addressing requirements, challenges, integrations, and product discussions.

• Act as the technical point of contact for the domain, managing communication with OX’s internal Customer Success teams.

• Facilitate technical discussions and decisions regarding product enhancements, new capabilities, and feature planning.

• Integrate AI tools and workflows into development processes, including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and prompt-driven prototyping.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on software development experience.

• Between 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical leadership or Team Lead position.

• Extensive hands-on expertise with Node.js is essential.

• Strong experience with AWS is also a must.

• Familiarity with React is preferred.

• Experience with Python is an advantage.

• Proficient in working with MongoDB.

• Significant experience in designing and building scalable backend systems.

• Proven track record of managing technical execution across multiple workstreams.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and clean code principles.

• Experience in delivering end-to-end features and projects from design to production.

• Background in a fast-paced product environment is advantageous.

• A strong ownership mindset with the ability to make independent technical decisions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in leading or collaborating with global or distributed teams.

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience participating in customer-facing technical discussions.
