Backend Engineer – SaaS Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Sustain and improve backend services that drive the SaaS platform.

• Guarantee uptime, scalability, and performance of APIs responsible for campaign generation, template storage, and credit-based billing.

• Enhance MongoDB queries, indexes, and caching methodologies.

• Execute and oversee Redis, job queues, and asynchronous workflows.

• Supervise and uphold AWS infrastructure.

• Enforce API authentication, rate limiting, GDPR compliance, and security measures for email data handling.

• Manage API versioning and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.

• Develop unit and integration tests.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate production issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Node.js with TypeScript, Express.js, or NestJS.

• Proficient in MongoDB, schema design, and ORMs such as Mongoose or Prisma.

• Experience with Redis, including pub/sub and caching mechanisms.

• Familiarity with job queues like BullMQ or RabbitMQ.

• Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, CloudWatch, SES, and Lambda.

• Background in Dockerized microservices and CI/CD processes using tools like GitHub Actions.

• Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols, including JWT, OAuth2, and role-based access control.

• Basic experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Winston, Pino, Prometheus, or Grafana.

• Experience in unit and integration testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Vitest.

• 3–5 years of experience in backend development.

• Previous experience in SaaS applications, high-traffic APIs, or campaign/marketing platforms is desirable.

• Familiarity with SpamAssassin and DKIM/SPF/DMARC standards is an advantage.
