This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +3 more countries.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality code.
• Construct, operate, and utilize MCP servers, focusing on tool design, authentication/OAuth, multi-tenant security, and deployment.
• Create LLM agents that incorporate tool/function calling and multi-agent orchestration.
• Assess and test agent behavior while implementing observability in production environments.
• Engage in architecture and design discussions, evaluating trade-offs related to scaling, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop backend services in Python for AI and Agent tasks, and utilize Java for integration with the client's core platform.
• Leverage AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot as part of your daily workflow.
• Participate in code review processes.
• Recognize technical debt and propose solutions to address it.
• Break down development tasks into clear, manageable components and execute them efficiently.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Quality Assurance to clarify requirements and uphold quality standards.
• Share knowledge, patterns, tools, and improved practices with team members.
• Execute other relevant responsibilities as needed.
• Reside in Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, or Mexico.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Over 4 years of backend-focused software development experience using Java and Python, with significant exposure to Agentic AI.
• Strong background in Java and Python, including experience with data structures, relational databases, and SQL.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot integrated into daily development tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly GCP, and concepts related to application infrastructure, including containers, caching, and distributed systems is advantageous.
• Experience with Microservices architecture.
• Ability to work independently on well-defined challenges and follow them through to completion.
• High attention to detail and a dedication to unit and functional testing.
• Experience in building AI-driven applications, agentic products and features, working with LLMs, or utilizing frameworks like LangChain or Google ADK.
• Practical experience in building, running, and utilizing MCP servers, focusing on tool design, authentication/OAuth, multi-tenant security, and deployment.
• Proven experience in developing LLM agents with tool/function calling and multi-agent orchestration, such as A2A or similar.
• Experience in testing and evaluating agent behavior, along with implementing observability in production.
• Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field gained through post-secondary education, hands-on experience, or both.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with React and TypeScript; understanding of JavaScript design patterns and single-page applications.
• Fully remote, full-time position (40 hours per week).
• Work schedule: 8 hours a day, aligned with East Coast office hours.
• Independent contractor agreement.
• Compensation in USD, with payment options available biweekly or monthly — your choice.
