Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist an external software development organization as a member of Inviso's delivery team.

• Work closely with client product, engineering, data, and platform stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and manage core services that support an enterprise AI platform.

• Contribute to the AI gateway, orchestration layer, entitlements, tenancy model, data access patterns, integration frameworks, APIs, and platform services.

• Take ownership of services from design and implementation to testing, deployment, reliability, and support.

• Monitor and provide support for services in a production environment.

• Travel as necessary to meet client requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and maintaining production backend, API, or distributed platform services.

• Strong software engineering capabilities in designing reliable, testable, and maintainable services.

• Familiarity with AI gateways, orchestration, entitlements, tenancy, metering, quotas, or related platform functionalities.

• Capability to design APIs and developer experiences for both internal and external users.

• Experience with multi-tenant systems, tenant isolation, service boundaries, and platform-level enforcement mechanisms.

• Background in creating integration frameworks, connector patterns, governed data access, or reliable data on-ramps.

• Solid understanding of retries, partial failures, consistency, idempotency, back-pressure, and operational failure modes.

• Experience managing services throughout the entire lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills suitable for client-facing consulting settings.

• Pragmatic approach that balances swift value delivery with high engineering standards.

• Proficient in C#, Python, Go, or similar backend programming languages.

• Knowledgeable in API gateways, orchestration systems, connector frameworks, event-driven architectures, or platform engineering.

• Experienced in AI, LLM, RAG, agentic workflows, tool/function calling, MCP, A2A, or AI development lifecycle methodologies.

• Familiar with event-sourced metering, quotas, entitlements, or billing-related platform services.

• Experienced in developing enterprise-scale software utilized by various products, customers, or internal teams.

• Proficient in using AI-assisted development tools while adhering to review, testing, and architectural standards.
