Backend Developer, Python, Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Enhance the search and indexing engine of the DTPtec/Direct Sales ecosystem from both a technical and architectural standpoint.

• Create, optimize, and sustain asynchronous Python microservices and APIs.

• Design, configure, and advance indexes, mappings, algorithms, and search strategies within ElasticSearch.

• Guarantee high performance, minimal latency, and relevance in searches for both the app and portal.

• Engage in the technical refinement of requirements alongside the Tech Lead and Product Manager.

• Collaborate on establishing architectural standards, DevOps practices, CI/CD processes, and search service infrastructure.

• Identify technical constraints and suggest architectural enhancements to facilitate future scaling.

• Advocate for quality through testing, engineering best practices, and code reviews (PRs).

• Partner with Product, Mobile, Frontend, and Backend teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend development using Python, particularly in asynchronous frameworks and paradigms.

• Strong foundation in search engineering with advanced practical knowledge of ElasticSearch, including data modeling, weighting rules, indexing, queries, and relevance optimization.

• Proficiency in microservices architecture and creating/consuming RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

• High level of autonomy, self-management, and initiative to explore issues and propose architectural solutions.

• Highly collaborative mindset coupled with strong interpersonal communication abilities.

• Critical viewpoint on software quality, testing, and code sustainability.

• Preferred: experience with search engines tailored for e-commerce or high-traffic platforms.

• Preferred: knowledge of Java, Go, or Kotlin with a focus on ElasticSearch/search engines.

• Preferred: understanding of System Design and distributed architectures.
