Backend Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain backend services and APIs for the digital campaign management platform utilizing .NET technologies.

• Collaborate closely with product owners, UX/UI designers, and fellow developers to grasp requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Perform code reviews, testing, documentation, and maintain version control.

• Enhance backend performance, scalability, and reliability through continuous monitoring, profiling, and improvements.

• Engage in architectural discussions to evolve the backend architecture of the platform.

• Integrate services with databases, message queues, and third-party APIs.

• Diagnose and resolve complex backend issues.

• Keep abreast of the latest .NET technologies, frameworks, and industry developments.

• Mentor junior developers and advocate for best practices.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications, database schemas, and architecture diagrams.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude.

• Design and implement distributed systems that are highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative delivery processes.

• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage services with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Develop and sustain event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus and asynchronous messaging patterns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in backend development leveraging .NET technologies (e.g., .NET Core).

• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.

• Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.

• Proficient in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Microsoft SQL, and elastic pools) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Entity Framework).

• Familiarity with message queues (e.g., ABS, RabbitMQ) and caching technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached).

• Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledgeable in unit testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit).

• Strong understanding of software development best practices, including SOLID principles, DRY, and YAGNI.

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and distributed systems.

• Preferred: experience in building high-scale, high-traffic backend applications and services.

• Preferred: familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude.

• Preferred: experience with API gateways, rate limiting, and API management.

• Preferred: experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools such as Application Insights and OpenTelemetry.

• Preferred: experience with Git version control and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

• Preferred: experience in designing highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

• Preferred: experience with Docker and Kubernetes, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Experience in working on high-scale gaming or other high-traffic platforms is a plus.
