Back-end Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create and deliver services that initiate searches from external job listings, link candidates, and progress candidates through various recruiting phases.

• Develop the agent runtime responsible for interpreting recruiter messages, planning written communications, and executing them.

• Construct and sustain the workflow engine that triggers tasks upon milestone recordings and prevents redundant work when steps are already completed.

• Establish integrations with applicant tracking systems, calendars, document management, and note-taking tools.

• Implement polling and webhook pathways to detect newly posted job listings.

• Incorporate recruiting workflow steps and ensure that chat messages successfully schedule interviews, advance candidates, and log milestones.

• Monitor production processes, pinpoint specific failure causes, and introduce preventive checks.

• Eliminate outdated implementations once callers have transitioned to the newer versions.

• Collaborate through pull requests, providing clear descriptions of functionality, risks, and validation methods.

• Validate recruiting processes using the actual application and conducting repeated model runs where applicable.

• Engage with product users and recruiting agencies, tracking searches from job publication to signed offers.

• Proven experience in building and managing backend systems relied upon by others.

• Proficient in working with relational data and managing transactions.

• Familiarity with unique indexes and soft deletes.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering integrations with third-party APIs.

• Knowledge of API rate limits, draft versus published states, and the delayed visibility following successful writes.

• Skill in tracing an HTTP request through workflow history to identify the active step.

• Capability to write maintainable TypeScript code.

• Genuine interest in recruiter-facing product functionality and ensuring workflow accuracy.
