Azure Virtual Desktop Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Participate in the Mobility and Remote Access Services team to support enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and mobility functions.

• Facilitate secure remote access and virtual desktop services, including Azure Virtual Desktop and Microsoft Intune, for the EITaaS program and users across 187 locations.

• Collaborate with the Team Lead and engineering teams to transition new capabilities from engineering to operations.

• Assist with operational hand-off and monitor post-deployment activities.

• Administer and maintain VDI and MDM technologies utilizing Azure Virtual Desktop and Microsoft Intune.

• Aid in operational transition, deployment, and retirement services.

• Implement PowerShell scripts and other deployment functionalities to automate AVD operations.

• Diagnose and resolve AVD and mobility user and system issues, providing remediation steps.

• Support Windows Zero Touch Implementation processes for AVD solutions.

• Oversee and manage Azure AVD resources and OS images.

• Deploy monthly OS and application patches to current AVD virtual machines.

• Monitor AVD resources and modify capacity by shutting down over-provisioned resources and initiating new resources as necessary.

• Serve as a Purebred agent when required.

• Utilize the government ITSM tool to track service requests and incident tickets.

• Manage operational ticket queues, generate and report performance metrics, and assist in ticket reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience; a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of experience.

• Current certification in Security+ or any of CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP.

• Experience in installing and supporting Windows client systems and mobile devices.

• Capability to execute detailed technical processes as documented.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with Windows Operating Systems.

• Experience with Azure compute and storage resources.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.

• Strong customer service abilities and the capacity to communicate with end-users to identify and resolve technical issues.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.

• Experience supporting Windows computers and users within an enterprise environment.

• Familiarity with MS Intune for managing mobile platforms.

• Experience with STIG Windows security controls.

• Proficient in creating technical documentation.

• Experience in creating and executing PowerShell scripts.

• Experience in managing Active Directory domain or Entra ID user and computer objects.

• Preferred background in DoD, specifically with the USAF.
