Azure Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Design and execute intricate Azure cloud solutions spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.

• Take the lead in the architectural design of cloud-native applications, microservices, and serverless frameworks utilizing Azure Functions and Logic Apps.

• Develop both high-level and low-level design documentation, architecture diagrams, and technical roadmaps.

• Establish infrastructure-as-code methodologies using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications and cost models in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Offer expert advice on cloud best practices, migration strategies, and governance in the cloud environment.

• Facilitate discovery workshops and craft migration roadmaps for both on-premises and cloud settings.

• Implement security measures with Azure Security Center, Defender, Sentinel, Azure AD, and Entra ID.

• Ensure adherence to ISO, SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, and internal security protocols.

• Architect Azure network solutions including VNet, NSG, Firewall, VPN, and ExpressRoute.

• Monitor and enhance Azure resource utilization for optimal performance and disaster recovery using Azure Site Recovery.

• Apply FinOps practices to monitor, manage, and optimize expenditures in the cloud.

• Set performance benchmarks and SLAs for essential workloads.

• Guide development and operations teams on Azure principles and best practices.

• Conduct reviews of infrastructure code and provide technical support escalation.

• Assess new Azure services and features for their potential business impact.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of overall experience in IT infrastructure, software development, or cloud architecture.

• More than 5 years of focused experience in Azure solution design and execution.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is mandatory.

• Extensive knowledge of Azure compute (VM, AKS, App Services), storage (Blob, SQL, Cosmos DB), and networking.

• Solid experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and creating CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, CLI, Python, or C#.

• Strong grasp of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration techniques.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical executives.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to make critical decisions under pressure.

• Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional teams and manage technical initiatives from inception to completion.

• Willingness to work within CET ± 3 hours.
