AWS Cloud Engineer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Act as the L3 escalation point and technical subject matter expert for intricate AWS, operating system, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and deployment challenges.

• Design and deploy infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform, and optionally CloudFormation.

• Create reusable IaC modules while upholding coding standards.

• Implement and sustain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies with ArgoCD.

• Design pipelines, manage environment promotions, rollbacks, and drift remediation processes.

• Develop configuration management and operational automation with Ansible/AWX, Bash, PowerShell, Python, and other relevant tools.

• Design, deploy, and oversee Amazon EKS workloads, Helm charts, and environment-specific templates.

• Conduct Linux and Windows administration, including hardening, patching, performance tuning, and automated deployments.

• Lead incident response for major production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement permanent automated solutions.

• Direct and coordinate Disaster Recovery planning and testing, including the creation of runbooks, failover/failback procedures, and validation processes.

• Define and enforce technical standards for IaC, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and operational workflows.

• Enhance monitoring, alerting, logging, observability, and overall operational reliability.

• Mentor and provide technical direction to L1 and L2 engineers.

• Review and authorize infrastructure and deployment modifications.

• Generate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, runbooks, architecture documentation, and Disaster Recovery documentation.

• Collaborate with product and customer engineering teams on cloud-based solutions, migrations, and optimizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of pertinent experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or a related domain.

• Proficient knowledge of AWS services, architectural patterns, security measures, networking, and operational best practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles, Terraform module design, state management, and security considerations.

• Extensive expertise in Linux and Windows internals, administration, automation, and security hardening.

• Profound experience in Kubernetes architecture and operations, preferably with Amazon EKS, including Helm and GitOps methodologies.

• Familiarity with NIST, HIPAA, PCI, and other relevant security and compliance frameworks.

• Expert-level skills in AWS and Terraform, including Terragrunt patterns, reusable module development, state management, and IaC security.

• Experience with EKS, Helm, containers, and GitOps utilizing ArgoCD.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, automated testing, and deployment automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Experience with Ansible/AWX.

• Advanced Linux administration skills and solid Windows Server administration experience.

• Proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripting.

• Strong Git skills, including branching strategies, code reviews, hooks, and access controls.

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK/EFK, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of secure IAM practices, secret management, network security, and encryption.

• Experience in Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and runbook creation.

• AWS certifications are preferred, such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional.

• CNCF/Kubernetes certifications and Azure/GCP certifications are advantageous.
