This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Deliver engineering, operational, automation, governance, and security assistance for AWS.
• Maintain, support, and optimize AWS infrastructure.
• Create highly available, reliable, scalable, and secure cloud solutions for hybrid-cloud adoption and modernization of platforms.
• Work collaboratively with the Cloud Center of Excellence, Cloud Architects, Cloud Engineers, ITD Architecture team, engineers, architects, division leaders, and external partners.
• Design, implement, and manage AWS-based infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Architect cloud systems for optimal performance, scalability, security, availability, and reliability.
• Oversee AWS services such as EC2, VPC, storage, networking, and other infrastructure services.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code, automation scripts, templates, and frameworks.
• Utilize Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and Terraform.
• Deploy and sustain secure cloud networking, identity management, and access control.
• Support containerized workloads and facilitate OpenShift integration.
• Monitor cloud environments, analyze cost and performance metrics, address issues, and apply enhancements.
• Optimize utilization of cloud resources and costs.
• Assist with monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency solutions.
• Execute cloud vision and strategy, supporting enterprise architecture.
• Provide subject matter expertise and develop customized solutions.
• Facilitate the transition of products from development to sustainable production deployment.
• Assess emerging cloud technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Engage in hands-on implementation, prototyping, and coding.
• Support initiatives for application modernization.
• Implement and uphold enterprise security, governance, compliance, and operational controls.
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures.
• Contribute to a multi-cloud services catalog.
• Stay updated on IT advancements and cloud technologies.
• Work remotely from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with limited travel required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Additional experience or relevant certifications may compensate for some or all educational requirements.
• A minimum of five years of experience in computer systems and infrastructure.
• At least two years of specialized experience in cloud engineering.
• Proven technical judgment with the ability to guide decisions across systems, scale, performance, security, and fault tolerance.
• Experience and significant knowledge of at least one cloud platform.
• Experience working in small to medium-sized cloud engineering teams.
• Capability to collaborate across organizations and with multiple stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of IBM Cloud Services.
• Preferred: ITIL Foundations certification for Information Technology Division personnel.
• Preferred AWS certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS Security Specialty, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• Preferred experience with IBM Cloud infrastructure, including IBM Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
• Preferred experience with IBM Kubernetes Service (IKS) and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Preferred proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Preferred strong understanding of cloud networking and security principles.
• Preferred experience with disaster recovery, high availability, and cloud resiliency planning.
• Preferred IBM certifications: IBM Certified Professional Architect, IBM Cloud Professional Architect, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or Red Hat OpenShift Administration.
• Preferred one or more years of IBM Cloud or hybrid cloud experience.
• Must reside in Ohio or Florida.
• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information effectively.
• Must comply with the annual influenza prevention program or obtain an approved exemption.
