AWS Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Serve as a reliable technical advisor for enterprise clients, collaborating with executive stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams.

• Facilitate discovery sessions, architecture workshops, technical design reviews, and cloud strategy engagements.

• Create secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient AWS architectures that adhere to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

• Design and implement AWS landing zones, multi-account setups, hybrid connectivity, disaster recovery, and enterprise networking solutions.

• Architect and manage production-level Amazon EKS and Kubernetes platforms.

• Spearhead cloud migration and modernization projects involving containers, microservices, serverless services, and cloud-native architectures.

• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Integrate Terraform and infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

• Create AWS networking solutions utilizing VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, and hybrid connectivity.

• Define and implement best practices for IAM, security, encryption, governance, compliance, and FinOps.

• Troubleshoot issues in Windows Server and Linux environments, including production incidents.

• Provide support for enterprise web platforms such as IIS, Apache, and Nginx.

• Develop operational and infrastructure automation utilizing PowerShell, Bash, and Python.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

• Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), architecture diagrams, migration plans, technical proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs).

• Mentor engineering teams, perform architecture reviews, and establish best practices in cloud and platform engineering.

• Assist in pre-sales activities through technical solution design, estimation, proposals, and customer presentations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in Cloud Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.

• More than 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing enterprise AWS environments.

• Strong practical expertise with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes in production settings.

• Advanced skills in Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, enterprise landing zones, and multi-account architectures.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, and hybrid connectivity.

• Extensive experience with IAM, cloud security, encryption, governance, compliance, and AWS security best practices.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.

• Understanding of cloud cost optimization, FinOps, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Strong troubleshooting and administration skills in both Linux and Windows Server environments.

• Familiarity with IIS, Apache HTTP Server, and Nginx.

• Proficient in scripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash, and Python.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, or Datadog.

• Strong customer-facing consulting skills, stakeholder management, and technical communication abilities.

• Experience in creating enterprise architecture documentation and leading technical workshops.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

• Required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional OR AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
